All this could be achieved without suffering at least part of the public, which could even enjoy not only the economies, even significant improvements in services. If this path is pursued, our Sicily, will not have to wait long to become one of the richest, most advanced and respected in the world. But what I must point out in particular is that many objectives can be achieved very quickly and without asking permission anyone, but simply using it productive and intelligent our special statute region. Statute which for once should be used as a formidable instrument of economic and political emancipation of Sicily, instead of as hitherto has been used only as an element of heaviness and ballast against any initiative admirable progress.
